Audiovisual producers around the world meet this week in Igualada, Spain
Wednesday, Oct. 5 begins the meeting organized by UNESCO International
UNESCO International Igualada chose to celebrate the UNESCO International Meeting of Independent Producers, a few training sessions that bring together professionals from the audiovisual industry worldwide, especially in developing countries.
From today it arrived in Catalonia in the different audiovisual professionals participating in the conference, thirty professionals from 24 different countries as Egypt, Lebanon, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Argentina, Mongolia, Philippines, Iraq, Cameroon, Kenya and Tunisia, among others.
The professionals who attend the workshops followed a selection process in which priorities are those audiovisual producers from developing countries and women, reaching almost half of those registered. Students participate in workshops led by expert trainers in the audiovisual sector, from different countries such as Serbia, Canada, Hungary and Italy.
In addition to the workshops will be held at the Hotel America, Igualada, the organization also is planning an exhibition of popular culture and traditional Catalan. The last day, Friday 7th, a dinner will be open to everyone, from UNESCO Igualada, stresses the importance of this dinner was attended by professionals of the Catalan audiovisual industry, as it will be a good opportunity to share experiences and projects. Television of Catalonia has supported the event.
UNESCO’s audiovisual platform is a project initiated by UNESCO in 2004 with the objective of promoting international exchange of audiovisual content creators, especially related to development issues and promote audiovisual production as a tool for expression cultural and intercultural dialogue. The platform also facilitates the exchange between businesses and professionals in the audiovisual field. Since 2008 the headquarters of UNESCO Audiovisual Platform is Igualada Igualada is managed by Michael Segura.
