Mr Sciarratta is the Editor of the NGO Reporter, a quarterly disseminated by the NGO DPI Executive Committee to thousands of United Nations Department of Global Communications (UNDGC) affiliates worldwide. He is also Editor of Global Connections magazine, an extension of the United Nations Association in New York State. He acts as Project Director for World Development Foundation programming at United Nations Headquarters; and is a founder of the Vinculum Foundation in New York.
Mr Sciarratta was recently named by UNDGC to Co-Chair the Media Committee preparing for the upcoming UN 68th Annual Civil Society Conference in August 2019 “Building Inclusive and Sustainable Communities.” Patrick will work closely with our Conference Chair, Ms Maruxa Cardama (Secretary General, Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) (#UNCSC2019).
Patrick will provide the keynote address at the World Assembly of Youth Annual Conference: “Youth Deconstructing Fake News,” in Melaka, Malaysia, (22-27 June 2019). Between 2002 and 2015, he produced and directed the Youth Assembly at the UN, during which he introduced former UN Youth Envoy Ahmad Alhendawi, one of its early participants, to the United Nations. During his tenure as director of the InterArts Colony, near Woodstock, NY, he received the first-ever MacArthur (“Genius”) award presented to an NGO. In the 1990’s he became a Presidential Representative to President Clinton. At the turn of the century, Patrick created and led three youth-oriented, Flagship Projects during UNESCOs International Year for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World with hundreds of journalists and young diplomats in Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary as well as many other, similar programs at the United Nations and throughout the world. During the early 1990’s, Mr Sciarratta was part of the first-ever hi-definition television show in the USA, The ORCHESTRA, on PBS and Canal Plus. Patrick had male principal lead and help direct sequences; the special event received more awards than any other television production in the world in 1991.
