The European Media Literacy Week is a new initiative by the European Commission to underline the societal importance of media literacy and promote media literacy initiatives and projects across the Europe. From 18 to 22 March 2019, various events around the topic of media literacy will take place.

Workshop for high-school students
Workshop for 30 high-school students (15 -18y) – members of journalistic courses with short intros by EU & Media Literacy in SRB – Svetlana Djukić (EUD), SRB & Media Literacy – Maja Zarić (Ministry of Culture and Information), About Programme MLADI (an EU funded project) – Ivana Jelača (Media Diversity Institute) & UNESCO MIL Clicks – Media & Digital Literacy – Miomir Rajčević (Media Education Centre). Workshop in two groups, lecturers Dragoljub Draža Petrović (Editor-in-Chief of Danas daily) and Igor Božić (Executive Editor of N1 TV).
A high level of media literacy is a key factor to enable citizens to make informed decisions in the digital age. In this light, media literacy is a pre-requisite for a vibrant, modern democracy and an important topic in view of the upcoming European elections in May 2019.
